Welcome to the Bardufoss Region! Traveling in and out of the region is easy and due to our central location midway between Tromsø and Narvik, you can choose almost any transportation method. Read more about your alternatives below.


Travel by car
Arriving by car gives you the most freedom. We are fortunate to have the European Route 6 running from south to north through our region, so you can enter from either direction. The Bardufoss Region is perfectly located midway between Narvik and Tromsø – just make sure to find time for a stop! There are endless options for rental cars in Tromsø, Narvik and even in Bardufoss. Travel by bus
Troms county has a great public transportation system! Check out their website: Svipper. Here you can navigate through bus routes and schedules to find the best way to travel to the Bardufoss Region. The regional buses have daily departures to and from Narvik and Tromsø from central locations in our region. It’s about two hours travel time in each direction, perfect for both one-day-excursions or a multi-day getaway from the city life. Travel by boat
Parts of the Bardufoss Region is possible to reach by boat. The quay of Finnsnes city has daily connections to both Tromsø and Harstad! You will find all the information you need on the Svipper website. In addition the ships of Hurtigruten and Havila docks at Finnsnes!

Travel by plane
The center of the Bardufoss Region is Bardufoss Airport. Travel from Oslo to Bardufoss for a smooth entrance to the magnificent Bardufoss Region. With several daily connections to Oslo, it has never been easier. Rent a car or travel with the airport bus to your final destination.
